The World Employment Confederation-Europe issued today its new position paper on the Commission proposal for a Directive on transparent and predictable working conditions.
In its position paper, the World Employment Confederation-Europe raises major concerns with regard to the European Commission proposal, as the initiative is not suited to make European labour markets futureproof and adapted to the changing world of work.
The main concerns put forward in the position paper focus on the definitions established and used in the Commission proposal, the broad information obligations, the minimum working conditions and the proposed approach to provide access to training paid by the employer
The World Employment Confederation-Europe is convinced that these elements should best be addressed at national level. EU policy should focus on promoting reforms via the European Semester.
